i am trying to create a link to outlook live calendar to pass event data (get parameters) from my website and save the event in outlook live calendar, but i cannot find the correct url to use

this should work in a similar way to addevent.com,

i got the start bit right, (I think) but even with the correct parameters, the calendar opens in month view, but the event is not added.

I have tried

http://calendar.live.com/calendar/calendar.aspx?rru=addevent

https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/calendar/view/Month&rru=addevent.......

i got the top snippet from

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh846807.aspx#single

No problem with gcal !!

This by NO MEANS is a fix to what is an obvious BUG in MS programs.  All other online calendars work with a URL feed.  If Microsoft wishes to retain a presence in the marketplace I strongly suggest Microsoft correct this problem as quickly as is possible.

    +1

Got the same problem here. Hope I can just have a link with some event details, instead of using the API.

This is not something which should require the API

There is no need or intention to share the calendar.

All I am trying to do is enable a user to click on a link which takes them to their own instance of Outlook OWA on their own machine (pc/phone/tablet) and automatically add the details to their own calendar using the URL parameters from the link.

As I mentioned earlier, if i do this when not logged in to OWA, it works, but when i am already logged in, it takes me to the month view in the calendar and does not open the edit event window

    thanks for your reply.

I tried the links in several browsers, and it could be the issue lies with whether or not i am already logged in to outlook.

    here's an example.

    https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/calendar/view/Month&rru=addevent&startdt=20180213T000000Z&enddt=20180214T000000Z&subject=Test+Event&location=City+Hall

If i copy the url from my browser and paste it into a new window, the outlook owa opens in month view, but the new event is not open

If I log out of outlook owa then paste the above in my browser, i am taken through the sign-in and then calendar owa opens as a new event

i tried this in edge and FF and i get the same thing

    Hi,

The issue that you’ve encountered when linking the calendar events on your Outlook.com account may be caused by some files or components that are broken or missing on the system. To sort out your concern, we’d like to know the following information:

    • Were there any changes that happened prior to the issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Which browser are you using?
    • Have you tried a different browser?

We’re looking forward to your response.
