Disabling automatic periods after hitting double space bar

I just starting using the Mac version of Outlook.  I type periods at the end of sentences and then double space.  Unfortunately, Outlook is inserting a period from my hitting the space bar twice, resulting in there being two periods at the end of every one of my sentences.  Is there a way to disable the automatic insertion of the period after hitting the space bar twice.  I'm afraid that my typing habits will be too difficult to break.  Thanks.

    I'm not able to repro the double periods - i do get them with 2 spaces if i didn't already add a period.

    This behavior is a mac feature. Go to the Mac's Preferences, Keyboard, Test. Add period after double space is a checkbox on the right.

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for the sharing. To disable this setting, we just need to go to System Preferences> Keyboard> uncheck "Add period with double-space" is ok.

    @Diane, thanks for your suggestion.

    Regards,

    Hans

    Thank you.  That fixed the problem.  I never even considered looking at the Mac preferences as opposed to the Outlook preferences.
