How to Move Mozilla Thunderbird .pst emails and folders to Outlook on Office 365?

I have just started using office 365 business premium and now want to move all 7 email accounts from Thunderbird to Office 365 Outlook.

I have saved the .pst file for the thunderbird backup and now want to add all 7 email accounts for imap and then import all emails and existing folders into the new outlook

can someone please show me how to do this.

I thought it was using connected account but that just put all emails into one folder. I now understand not to use connected as I dont want all emails under one single folder but I want to keep all 7 email accounts separate in outlook and send and receive using each email address.

thanks!

Hi Efrem,

When you say “I want to keep all 7 email accounts separate in outlook”, do you mean that you want to add/set up separately each mailboxes for all your IMAP accounts using Outlook Web App (Office 365)? If so, it’s not feasible.

However, you can set up/add all your IMAP accounts separately using Outlook desktop (e.g. Outlook 2016) client. For your reference: Add an email account to Outlook

Your understanding will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Shyamal

    Hi Efrem,

As I said above it’s not feasible via using Outlook Web App.

However, I notice that you are using Office 365 Business Premium. If so, you can download desktop versions of Office 2016 applications. Here is the article for your reference: Download and install or reinstall Office 365 or Office 2016 on a PC or Mac

    Best regards,

    Hi,

I want to set up outlook so each email account is its own folder and i can send and receive mail for each email account. I do this currently in Thunderbird and have no problems with it.

As I now am a office 365 business user and want my 2 laptops and 1 android phone all syncd i thought i would move my 7 email accounts to office 365 and outlook.

    I dont have outlook 2016.

I have office 365 and its cloud outlook app.

If the mail accounts are pop mail accounts in OL it can be set to use the single data file, but by default it would use a separate set of Personal Folders (pst) for each mail account.

To set up as pop you have to use manual set up, otherwise by default it will set up as IMAP
