Outlook.com account for Outlook365

I use Microsoft365 and want to connect to an outlook.com account.
When I add (manually, POP or IMAP) the server doesn't seem to accept my credentials even if I am 100% sure they are correct.

Some years ago this was working fine using Outlook2016, but no longer (Now it is not working with neither Office365 or Outlook 2021).

The reason why manual setup is required is that the same e-mail address is on both outlook.com and on-premise Exchange Server and the name server has two MX Hosts, one for the ES server and the other for outlook.com server thus manual setup is necessary.

Anyone got a hint of why my creds are not accepted when the same creds are accepted by web access?
(The only reason I can think about is a possible confusion between private and school/job account, but I have no idea on how to distinguish)

    Hi @EuroEager2008

What's the version of your Outlook 365? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). Please make sure you have upgraded your Outlook to the latest version.

According to your description, I notice that you can't add your Outlook.com account as POP/IMAP account in Outlook 365. Based on my test in Outlook 365(version is as shown in the below figure), I can configure Outlook.com account as POP and IMAP account successfully. How did you add the Outlook.com account?

How did you add the Outlook.com account? For POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com and Enable mail provider settings, please refer to this official document for setting and confirmation: POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com.

On the other hand, it is recommended that you do this in Mail and add a new profile in the control panel(Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>add) to check if there're any differences.

    Hope the above help!

I am pretty sure I have followed the documentation all the way as in the screen shot taken from outlook.com.
What I am not so sure about is the setting of SPA requirement, but I tried both with and without.
Further I tried both POP and IMAP, no success
