Outlook keeps sending safe senders to the SPAMBOX

I found a thread from 2013 on this exact same issue.   Just this week, a friend who I have been emailing for years to the same email address have been finding her email going to the SPAMBOX.  I didn't know it for several days, but now after doing some digging, this is what is happening.  I can't see any setting to TELL Outlook that this is a SAFE SENDER anymore, guess they changed that at some point.  So, I created a special rule to route her emails to my INBOX but that is not a fix.  I should not have to create a special rule to tell Outlook that her email is safe.  It is a gmail account and the odd thing is another friend that is also usually in the same emails also has a gmail account and I am getting her emails just fine.

What gives Microsoft????  You guys made a change earlier this week that is mucking things up big time!!!

I'm having the same problem.  Someone I've emailed for years is now redirected to SPAMBOX folder.  I can move the emails to Inbox but within seconds they are moved right back to SPAMBOX.

For what it's worth and for anyone else coming across this thread, I also have a Samsung device.  I don't know if that is the common denominator here but it may have some relevance.  I do get my email on my phone, but mostly just to monitor incoming email.  I rarely respond or do anything with the email on my phone- it's just too small to read.

I also deleted the Spambox and has appeared to eliminate the issue.  Ironically, I found that same thread yesterday.  So, we aren't crazy.  ;-0

    Brian,

I did not create it, nothing has been changed on my devices.  Plus, one other person found this thread and reported the same issue- so something from Microsoft has made this change.  It is present in the webmail version.  My outlook only downloads the folders from the webmail.

And, as I stated, I only created a special rule to try and move it OUT of the SPAMBOX which did not work.

Please note as I stated in my original email, I have been emailing this person for years and then suddenly (with no changes on my side) her email was going to this SPAMBOX.

Ditto Jason.  I move her email to my INBOX and "poof" within seconds, it is moved right back to the SPAMBOX.  Even setting up the rules do not help.  I just don't get it.
