Receiving emails from Outlook re old ntlworld.com account

Hi

I keep getting emails from Microsoft saying "It looks like we don't have permission to get email for ********@ntlworld.com. I have tried to  follow the instructions to rectify this but am struggling as I can't remember my password and can't find any way of retrieving it. Help please as I am receiving these emails daily now.

    Greetings. This is Alan Wu from Office 365 forum support and I am happy to assist you for your case here.  Please be noted that I have covered the domain in your post for protecting the privacy. 

    For your case, my understanding is that the emails should not be sent by Microsoft as I have checked the domain and found it is not a Microsoft one. On another hand, it might be some phishing email or spam email. So, my suggestion is not to click any link in the email or type your password in for avoiding the attack. And, you can try blocking the sender so that you won't receive these emails. For more information, you can refer to

    PS: Did you setup your Office 365 for Business with a Microsoft Account using the NTLWORLD email and password?

    As per Alan's post be very careful. DO NOT FOLLOW ANY INSTRUCTIONS.  Microsoft will never send you emails to log onto your NTLWORLD account.  You can logon to  My Virgin Media and then into your NTL Account.  If you cannot logon you can telephone Virgin Media 150 or 151 if you have a virgin media telephone service or 03454541111

    All the above only applies if you have a ntlworld account with  Virgin Media.

    You would need to contact Virgin Media support/Forums if you have lost the mail password or have connection problems
