Outlook Meeting notice - forwarding vs adding an attendee

If a meeting notice is forwarded (rather than adding the new attendee via the scheduling tab), will the added recipient receive future updates that may occur.  It has been my understanding that they would not, unless this has changed recently.

    Hello Iris,

Based on my experience and tests, in Office 365 for Business subscriptions, once you forwarding the Meeting invitation to another recipient(who was not added to the attendees), he will be added to the Attendees of that meeting. The sender will show “xxx on behalf of xxx(the meeting organizer)”.

Then when the organizer updates the meeting, the person who received the forwarded meeting invitation, will receive a new email of the meeting invitation. It means that all the updates of the meeting will be delivered to him too.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about it.

    Regards,

    Rick
