Is this legit? I think it is a scam.

I received an email, which I did not open.

On my incoming email, it shows it is from Mail Service.  The content says RE: account upgrade Outlook Mail We are closing all old version of our Mailbox as from July 25.  Please follow the link below to update you account....

When I select to block it, it shows it is from ******@hotmail.com.  But I think this is a scam.

I think anything legit from Microsoft would say it comes from Microsoft not Hotmail.

    Hello Terry

Without seeing the exact email along with the underlying links, it's impossible to "definitively" say whether it's scam or not. That being said, really does sound like a phishing scam and would not click on any link in the message and certainly would not provide any so-called "verification info".

To verify whether a link in the message is valid (points to a valid Microsoft URL), hover your mouse over the link and see where it actually points to OR right-click on the link --> select <copy> --> paste it in any text editor (i.e. Notepad).

FWIW - not aware of anything related to "We are closing all old version of our Mailbox as from July 25"

I received the following email, which I did not open, as it seems suspicious (the sender's email is not from Microsoft).  Is this legit?

It is spam and should be deleted.
