Adding Location to Appointment in Outlook

With the latest update to Outlook on Office365 (on my desktop, not online), I cannot figure out how to add a location for an appointment. Previous versions allowed me to add appointments on the fly, typing in an address or pulling one from my address book. This latest version seems to want to add an email address for the location or for me to create a "room" for the appointment. I need the address to show in the appointment. Yes, I can go to my Address Book, look up the Contact, then copy the address, then paste it in the Location field, but there must be a simpler way. Is this a configuration issue or is this just the way MS wants us to do it?

Thanks,

Bill

I have the same issue.  I do not want to put a 'room' as a location, but rather a physical address, like a restaurant, place of business, etc.

    Ex:

    123 Janeway Dr., Somewhere, Canada L0L 0L0

You know, for meetings that take place in real life, in the physical world.

Thank you for the reply Oliver but I do not want to have to copy java code to do something that I could do before Microsoft "improved" Outlook. Yes, the function that I am seeking does appear to work on Outlook on the web, but I work in Outlook on my desktop because it allows for other add-ons that make my life easier. Outlook on the Web does not. It would appear that either Microsoft is trying to force everyone to use web apps or some software engineer is "improving" Outlook so much that it is becoming unusable and I would hate that.

Please relay our desire to be able to use Outlook on our desktops and easily schedule appointments with just a click or two without having to install java code.

Outlook has been a great tool for my business for the last 25 years and I would hate for someone to ruin it.

    Respectfully,

    Bill Rodgers

Nice to know I am not the only person who uses Outlook to schedule appointments with clients who have offices located somewhere besides down the hall or up one floor. This change in this feature is very puzzling to me.

So Microsoft, the question still remains, how can Oliver and I use Outlook to schedule appointments with our clients who work in different parts of the city/state without jumping through all the hoops of creating a "room" for our clients? Please enlighten us.

This is supremely RIDICULOUS!! I am not going to even consider coding Javascript simply to add an actual address as a location rather than a meeting room.  It is UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft designed this to support meeting rooms only.   I pay MICROSOFT A LOT OF MONEY and I absolutely insist that you fix this design flaw.

Outlook has been rendered USELESS due to this deficiency.  And to ignore this very basic capability is testament to how little Microsoft cares about its customers.

    DO SOMETHING NOW.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but my business is not room oriented - when I make an appointment with a client, it is at the client's office location. Before this Office365 update a month or two ago, adding the physical address that I had associated with a contact was very easy, involving a couple of clicks. I do not want to create a "room" for each of my clients each time I make an appointment.

Does anyone else have a better solution?

    Thank you.
