Hyperlink within PDF won't open in Outlook mobile app

I have a pdf that contains hyperlinks to an external webpage that I need to send as an attachment. When opening the email on desktop, in the native iPhone mail app, in mobile browsers, or in the gmail app the links function just fine, but when viewing in the Outlook app the links don't recognise or function.

How can I make sure the links work when recipients receive via the Outlook mobile app?

Thanks.

    Hi Justin,

As recommended above, you may submit feedback about this functionality that no longer works in the recent version of Outlook for iOS. This will let our developers be aware of this concern. Click here for the steps on how to suggest a Feature within the app or use this link to post to it through Outlook for iOS UserVoice.

    Hi Louie,

I'm using version 4.5.0, and yes it happens with all PDFs.

Your suggested work around does work for me too, but it's not so much that I need the capability for myself; I need to send a pdf to a large amount of people for work, and if any of them can't use the links inside it's just a bit useless. I don't really want to send instructions along with the PDF for users of the Outlook app.

Might just be something to look at for future versions of the app.

    J

    Same issue.

    iOS 13.1.2

    Outlook 4.7.0

    OneDrive 11.4

Tried the suggested workaround: Saving the pdf-attachment and opening it from OneDrive. Links still not clickable.

    Hi jp28570,

Can you confirm the version of the Outlook mobile app you are using on your device? Does the issue occur on all PDF files with hyperlinks?

By the way, I’ve tried replicating this concern on our end using an iOS device and the latest version of Outlook for iOS. I did encounter the same behavior when trying to click on the hyperlink in the PDF attachment of an email and it didn’t open. It seems like it’s by design. However, when I’ve saved the specific PDF file to the device itself, there was a prompt to open the link. To confirm, have you already tried this? If not, you may try to save the PDF file first and see if it will let you be redirected to the external webpage.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.
