Using Outlook for iOS in business environments for email and scheduling

I have ran into the same issue as yours recently when I had to configure my company email to Outlook desktop and to my iPhone. What I did is to enable IMAP. After which, my Outlook desktop and Outlook iOS began sync-ing properly. The calendar on both Outlook devices sync automatically as well.
I would like to check with you if you have enabled your GMAIL IMAP? If you are unsure how to do this, please follow the steps below.
- Log in to you GMAIL account via computer browser (e.g. Chrome, IE, etc.)
- After you log in, tap the gears icon (above your email on the right-hand side) and choose Settings.
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and make sure IMAP is enabled (IMAP Access).
