Calendar delegate access but without notifications

Hi,

What I'm looking for is the ability to modify/edit someone's calendar when necessary every now and again, like for emergencies but don't get notified of all their meeting invites. It seems the only options available for delegate access all involve me getting notifications.

Is there some sort of option I'm missing or a work around?

Thank you in advance for your help .

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Brandon. I'm a Microsoft user like you.

While you could create a rule to sort out the mess, the real solution lies in requesting the calendar owner to modify the delegate permissions he/she has set up for you.

By default, delegates are set to receive copies of meeting-related messages such as meeting requests and responses.

It will take for the calendar owner only a few seconds to change it so that you won’t receive these anymore.

The option to change this behavior can be found in the Delegates Permissions dialog:

    • On Outlook 2016, go to:

    File-> Account Settings-> Delegate Access

    • Here, double click on the delegate or select it and press the "Permissions" button to open the dialog to specify the permissions for the delegate.
    • Disable the option: Delegate receives copies of meeting-related messages sent to me

Note: Even without the copies, but with Editor permissions, you can still create, accept and decline meeting invitations from within the Calendar of the calendar owner

Please let me know how it goes. :)

If using Webmail version, have the user load the calendar, click Share in top right and locate you in search field, assign “Can edit” and click Share.

    Hi Sammy,

What version of Outlook? In that case I would advise against delegate and instead modifying permissions of the users calendar to assign you Editor rights.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

Thank you for the reply. We're using Office 2016.

Edit: I'm guessing the "Calendar Permissions" option is what you were referring to earlier?

    Regards
