I too am having issues with IE11 and Office365 Outlook Webmail. I have an S/MIME installation package 'owasmime.msi' dated 10/11/2017 that does not appear to fully install. It pops up a progress bar very quickly and then dissappears. I wonder if it is the most recent version? Is there a download source other than through the OWA interface?
S/MIME will not complete install
I'm operating Windows10, IE11 with USAF Office365 OWA. I installed it once a day or two ago, and it allowed me to open an encrypted email once. But when it would not work a second time, I re-installed some certs (and some were missing) and attempted to uninstall/re-install S/MIME. In the process I uninstalled the S/SMIME app as well as the ACTIVE-X S/MIME app.
Since then, S/MIME will not complete the installation process. The progress bar will get about 1/2 to 2/3 across then the process shuts down. The app will show installed, but there is no ACTIVE-X S/MIME app, and when I attempt to open an encrypted email I get the message that S/MIME is not installed. Here are a couple of the troubleshooting steps that I've taken thus far.
--I've uninstalled, restarted, then installed to the same effect.
--I've deleted and redownloaded a new S/MIME installer, with no change in outcome.
And now I'm out of Schlitz. Any help?

2019-04-01T12:35:10+00:00 Hi Rvicars,
If S/MIME installer (owasmime.msi) will not install successfully, firstly, please clear your IE browser cache, then check if it caused by the problematic add-on. Please try the following steps to open Internet Explorer in No Add-ons mode.
- Open IE, click the Tools button, and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
- Under Show, tap or click All add-ons, and then select the add-on you want to turn off.
- Tap or click Disable, and then tap or click Close. Then try to re-install the S/MIME and see the result.
The detailed steps please see: Manage add-ons in Internet Explorer 11.
If issue persists, may I know if there is any error message if you fail to install? If yes, please share a screenshot of the error message.
Regards,
Bryan

2019-03-31T12:36:37+00:00 Thanks, Rob. That doesn't quite get at my issue, unless I missed something. I'm using OWA for USAF email, and the problem I'm having is that the S/MIME installer (owasmime.msi) will not completely install. It stops half way through the process. Thanks again for your support.
