Hi

I am the owner of the Office 365 Group. I have tried sending mail to the Office 365 Group email from my personal hotmail account but the email is not sent through. I have ticked the option in the group *"Let people outside your organization email the group"*but it is still not working. It works fine for all users within the organization but not external mails. Please help.

The error message from my hotmail is as follows

*"*Your message couldn't be delivered. It appears that the email address you sent your message to wasn't found at the destination domain, or the recipient's mailbox is unavailable. The email address might be misspelled or it might not exist."

Hi Nemanja and Rudy,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, we found the issue, the sharepoint email address needed to be whitelisted according to our IT policy.

Thanks for the help.

Regards

Yung Kit

Hello Yung Kit,

How are you? I am interested in this case, can I know if everything works well now? If you still can't send messages to your owned Office 365 Group via your Hotmail account, please try to send any message from any other personal mail account, like Outlook.com, Gmail.com, or Yahoo.com. If issue persists with the same error message?

Meanwhile, in some cases, the autocompleted "To" address can cause this kind issue, so you may need to remove that cached group's email address from the autocompleted list then typed its email address manually in the "To" field.

If everything works well, we are really glad to hear it. And if possible, we also welcome you share the solution with us here to benefit other community members. Thanks for your time.

Happy new year.

Cheers,

Rudy

    Hi Yung,

Please try to enable external senders by the PowerShell with -RequireSenderAuthenticationEnabled $false. For the detailed steps, please refer to the article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/users-and-groups/set-unifiedgroup?view=exchange-ps

If the issue persists, please create a new - test Office 365 group and check whether the issue will appear.

Also, for the further troubleshooting, please send me the complete NDR message. To protect your privacy, please use Private messages I have sent you.

    Best regards,

    Nemanja
