Recall message notification

Hi,

I tried to recall a message with the "recall this message" toolbar and also ticked the box "Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient". After i proceeded, i got this mark saying that "you tried to recall this message on dd/mm/yyyy" such as below pic.

However, i am yet to receive any follow up notification saying whether the recall succeeds or not.

Anyone got the same issue?

Thanks

    Hi Bhima,

    Thank you for the post.

From the fact you did not receive any notification, that is clear the recall is not successful. In some circumstances, you may be able to recall the message, or replace it entirely, it only works when:

    • The recipients use your Exchange server as their email address, and have not forwarded their Exchange email to another account.
    • The recipients are currently logged into their Exchange accounts and using Outlook.
    • The message is still unread and remains in the recipients' Inboxes.

Note: When you recall a message, the recipient will receive notification that you are recalling a message.

If your recipient has already opened your email, recall will fail certainly.

For more information, you can refer to this document.

    Kind Regards,

    George

We have our company mailboxes in Exchange Online / O365 and an on prem Exchange 2016 server.  During my testing with internal users, despite selecting the appropriate notification options, I found that I did not receive any delivery recall success / failure message notification.  Furthermore, the recipient never even got a recall request despite sending it immediately after my original message was sent.  I am wondering if this feature is not available with o365.  I found this:
