Outlook iOS app refreshes when switching between apps

Hi 

Most of the time when the outlook iOS app is used, and I switch to another window (say an active phone call our another app), and then when switching back to outlook, the app refreshes. The email or attachment that i was reading, goes away and the app returns back to the default start page. This is very annoying. Does anyone know a fix or the cause?

    I had this problem for long. Found a solution today in this forum thread:

    Summary what helped me:

    • Remove/Uninstall Outlook
    • Reboot
    • Install outlook

    After this my open mails keep open for along time and outlook is finally working with multi tasking!

    This appears to be an ongoing memory management issue in IOS 13, users have reported that it kills background apps too aggressively to free up resources, resulting in loss of progress in the app.

    Use in-app support to report it - click on the home icon to open the menu, then on ? - choose Contact support.

    yes i have the latest iOS and Outlook app installed. 

    problem has been there for quite a while, only just posted for help.

    Hi Blindsided123,

    Do you have the most recent update installed? I've noticed the same thing happening on my ipad, which doesn't have the newest build installed (yet). It doesn't seem to be a problem on my phone, which is updated as of yesterday. (It's really slow though, so maybe its too slow to refresh.)
