There is no search in contacts Outlook android App (do not want to search emails)

I would like to be able to search my contacts and NOT my emails when looking for a contact.  From want I can see on my android outlook app, if I put in a name, it will search every single email and the contacts. I do NOT want to search emails when I want to look for a contact's phone number.

Is there a way to search ONLY the contacts in my Outlook android app. - If not, what app works the same as my outlook desktop to search for contacts?

Well I did what you suggested.   I am not going to hold my breach.   Can you please forward how bad the contact version of the outlook app is.

It is ONLY designed to send emails, and you cannot look up a phone number and call it from the App.

All I want to do is be able to find a phone number to call or text someone.

Even if I am able to find the contact, the only way for me to find the phone number is to edit the contacts info. WHEN I do that, it turns my contacts information into <PLAIN TEXT>  MESSING IT UP that file, by removing ALL hyper links that I have have included in the Notes.

There is no way to look at a the MOST BASIC NEED--- THE PHONE NUMBER and then call or text the number.  THAT IS WANT A DATA BASE IS FOR and the app developers stupidly forgot that.

In a word the contact version of the Outlook app sucks.

    Hi Norwood,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Based on my tests and research, this is the default behavior when searching for contacts in the Outlook for Android APP.

To improve the features in our products and provide a better user experience to you, we recommend you can send your feedback and feature request to our product team directly from the Outlook via going to Settings > Help & Feedback > Suggest a Feature. It’s a good place for customers to share their feature requests and feedbacks. Your efforts and valuable comments will be highly appreciated.

Moreover, regarding the workaround to sync your Outlook contacts with your mobile phone, you can open Outlook app and go to Settings > click on your account then you will find the option “Sync Contacts” to sync your Outlook contacts to your mobile phone in there.

Alternatively, you may also try to create a new email in the Outlook for Android APP and then try to search for the specific contact by entering their name in the To: line to work around it.

Thanks again, for your kindly time and understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Jennifer

I cannot sync my contacts to my android phone, as my android phone is a GMAIL account and my 365 Account is different email address (domain).

In order to do what you suggest, to have my android phone use a separate contact list other than the one I use with outlook, I would need to add my other email domain to my gmail account GMAIL app, but if I do that then I would not have ANY need for my Outlook app, as I would be duplicating everything in gmail and have not use for Outlook at that point.

So that suggestions does not make sense. As if you want me to use the Devise app, why would you also want me to use the Outlook app at the same time?

I am not sure how to sync contact on my device.

When I try to sync on my device, the option for my office 365 contacts is not there

You search Contacts on your device, not the OL app
