How do you make the calendar date appear on each email in the inbox?

The message received appear in my inbox  but they do not have a calendar date so the only way to determine how old they are is to open each message.  How do you set up the inbox so the messages received also show the calendar date for each message?

    Hi Larry,

    Thanks for your reply.

When the reading pane is turned off, that means that you will only have two columns ( One for folders, and the other columns for the email list).

Looks like you have the reading pane on the right - since you can view or read your emails at the third column.

What version of Outlook are you using? If you have the Outlook app, you should have a way to sort and filter the emails on the second column by date. Do you see that option? They are beside 'All' and Unread'

Here's a link on how you can sort emails in Outlook: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/fo...

Once you sort them, the dates should be showing at the upper portion of each email on the second column.

Please let me know how ti goes.

    Regards,

    Joyce

Thank you Joyce for you offer to help.  I use Outlook for my email.  My display page has three

columns.  On the left is the list of my folders, in the middle is the received emails in order date received and the right column is the ove view of the email highlighted in the received email list that you can open.....  My problem is that the received emails in the middle column only show who sent the message.  That column used to also show a date for each message.  Not sure how that changed but would like to get the date for each message displayed again.  By the way, my technical knowledge is limited to the point that I do not really know what is meant by the term "reading panel is turned off."  How you define a "reading panel," how do you access it to know that it is turned off, or, on if necessary?

Again, greatly appreciate your efforts and hope I can learn and gain from your help..  Larry 82

In Outlook.com, the date shows up at the right side when the reading pane is turned off, and then at the upper postion on the message list when the reading pane is at the right. If you are using a nrowser, may I know what browser are you using,

    Hi Larry,

This is Joyce, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

May I know how do you access your email? Is it by using a browser or using another application like Outlook or Mail app?

In Outlook.com, the date shows up at the right side when the reading pane is turned off, and then at the upper postion on the message list when the reading pane is at the right. If you are using a nrowser, may I know what browser are you using?

    Looking foward to your response.

    Warm regards,

    Joyce
