Snooze and unsnooze

I have never knowingly snoozed anything, but recently the entire contents of my largest hotmail folder and the folder title itself became snoozed. Yes, I can unsnooze individual emails, in which case they go back into my inbox, but it seems necessary to do it one at a time. I could then create a new folder with a similar name to the original and transfer all the appropriate emails to that folder from the inbox. Think it might take until Xmas 2021.

Surely there must be a time function on snooze. Can I not adjust this to tomorrows date for example?

My main concern is not knowing how it happened, and how I can prevent it happening again.

I have just recently started using an IPhone 7 to look at my emails, could it be something to do with the way that this phone functions?

Thank you for your reply. It does seem highly unlikely that someone would hack my account simply to put an entire folder into snooze mode. Surely they would use it to send malicious or phishing emails.

Having got a folder in snooze mode, is there no way of taking it out of it, other than one email at a time? How can I see how long it is going to snooze for?

It does seem to me that this function can create more problems than it solves.

    Hi PeterWright2012,

Based on your post, it seems that you're having challenges with snoozed emails in your Outlook app for iOS. We'll try to address this the best way we can.

Once you snooze emails in Outlook for iOS, it would show an option of time frame whether how long you would like to snooze the emails. You might have accidentally snoozed those emails when you signed in your Outlook.com account via browser. For more details and further assistance regarding this matter, we suggest that you contact our Outlook for iOS In-App Support. They have the necessary tools to check the root cause of this and your account on their end.

Should you have further questions, please let us know.

Thank you for your reply. I have created a new folder and any new emails on the subject in question I move into the new folder. If I need to refer back to older emails, I know to look in the "Snooze" folder. I would really like to know how this could have happened in case it happens again. I never selected the Snooze option and certainly did not give any date or time for the duration of the snooze.

Once it has happened why is there no option to change your mind about the duration of the snooze, and why is it, that it transferred and entire folder of several thousand emails in snooze mode, but will only allow me to unsnooze them one at a time.

Any further advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Setting the date and time duration of scheduled emails is being provided when you first snooze your emails or folder. If you were not the one who snoozed the entire email folder, there might be someone who has access to your account. We suggest that you update your account password to avoid this kind of issue in the future. You may also refer to this article for more suggestions on how to keep your account safe and secure.

Should you have further questions, you may reach out our Outlook for iOS In-App Support team as suggested above.

    Regards.
