Hotmail Sign out

All of a sudden I can no longer sign out of Hotmail.  When I click on my initials on the top right corner, I used to get a drop down box where the last option was "sign out".  Now that entire area is full of ads and I cannot access the logout button.  This is terribly frustrating and I have tried and tried but each time, no avail, the ads remain in a long column on the right side.  This poses a security issue as I am no longer confident to open my Hotmail account on any computer.

    I’m Mel, an Independent Advisor. Just to set your expectation, I don't work for Microsoft, but I'd be glad to help.

    Try to clear the web browser's cache, and restart the browser. This should log you out of your account, but make sure that you know your correct Hotmail account credentials before you clear the browser's cache.

    It seems that this issue is related to the recent changes with the Outlook.com interface. You both isolated this issue well, and I believe its time to report this issue using Outlook.com Help and send a feedback for this issue using the Outlook.com UserVoice.     Hi Mel:

    Thank you so very much for the prompt reply and I followed your instructions.  I deleted browser history, and cleared the cache.  I was then able to log out perfectly, just as I had always done before.  But....I wanted to be sure it would work again so I logged out of Hotmail, logged back in and I had the exact same issue.  Huge pop up ad filled the right side of the screen, just as it had before.  Again, when I click on my initials only my name shows, no choices for logout............I'll take more help if you are willing to provide it.  Thanks.
