Recipients see a different profile photo

Hi all,

I've recently changed my hotmail profile photo. Although I see my new profile photo appearing on my end in the browser as well as the outlook apps on both Android and Mac, recipients report seeing a completely different (unprofessional) picture. What I think is that I was using the picture that recipients see when I was a teenager using MSN Messenger, but I'm not sure. I've repeatedly tried to delete and add a picture back, but recipients are still seeing that different picture.

I've contacted support in the past with this issue but they haven't been able to help me.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

    Rhaine,

I've given it a few days and have tried to check if it helped. None of it has unfortunately..

Are there any other things I can do?

I think Microsoft is having issues.

I am also unable to see or change my profile photo on my accounts.

    Hi Rhaine,

See attached. It doesn't seem that changing the password has worked. Below my profile photo and what actually appears on Gmail to multiple people. It appears to happen in both the browser as well as the app.

    Hii Rhaine,

    Thanks for the help here!

    1. It's a hotmail.com e-mail address from way back. Would that qualify as a third-party email address created as a Microsoft account?
    2. I don't know exactly when I last changed it, but it's been at least weeks since I changed it.

I'll try the password reset now and see what that does, let you know how it goes!

    Greetings,

My name is Rhaine, I'm Independent Community Advisor. I’m so glad assisting you today

I am also Outlook user. Let us work together to sort this out.

I have a few questions to isolate this issue.

    1. What is the email provider you are using to access your email? Is it @outlook.com or other third-party email address?
    2. When did you change the photo? And where did you change it is it in Outlook.com website?

Changing of information like profile picture or display name will take 24-48 in the system to take effect.

If issue persist after 24-48 after changing the profile photo, you can change your password to stop the syncing process with other devices in which your account is logged in before.

If you are using a third-party email address created as a Microsoft account you can try to check in your webmail if there are photo that was saved and delete it.

I hope the steps above helps. Have a nice day ahead and be safe. Please let me know how it goes.

    With Warm Regards

    Rhaine C.
