Hotmail account capacity

I have a Hotmail account and I keep getting notices from Hotmail saying that my account is reaching it's maximum storage capacity.  I delete a bunch of emails to free up account space but then in a few days I am at capacity again.

I can't figure out how to sort my emails by email size so I can locate the emails that are very large and delete some of them.  Does anyone know how to sort Hotmail emails so that the large file size emails are sorted to the top?

Also, is there a way I can increase the size of my Hotmail account so I don't exceed the maximum storage capacity?

Thanks

At the top of each folder is the <Filter> option which allows you to sort email messages by "size" (as per attached screenshot)

There is only one way to increase the mailbox size and that is by purchasing a subscription to Microsoft 365 (either Personal or Family) which includes an ad-free 50gb Outlook Premium account (free account size is 15gb). The Outlook.com account cannot be expanded beyond 50gb.

If you want to increase your account storage limit, you will need to have anOffice 365 Subscription*, which will give you a50GBlimit in the mailbox,*

I am in a similar situation to the original poster.

And just to clarify, if I "upgrade" to an Office 365 Subscription will there be NO change to my @hotmail address i.e. it will remain as it and working?

    Hi Ivory,

We got your queries about Hotmail.com in sorting emails by their size and freeing up storage on your account. Let me help you in the best way I can.

The option to sort emails by their sizes should be available on your account. Please check to see this article: Sort email messages in Outlook.com.

You can also check the current storage that the Outlook email has by going to Settings (Gear Icon at the top right) > Viewall Outlook settings > General > Storage

Lastly, you can use this link: Storage limits in Outlook.com for more tips on freeingup storage on your Hotmail.com account.

Just to let you know, Outlook.com/Hotmail.com accounts have a storage capacity of 15GB by default. If you want to increase your account storage limit, you will need to have an Office 365 Subscription, which will give you a 50GB limit in the mailbox, which also gave in that link above.

Should you have other concerns that we can assist you with, you can get back to us by replying to this post or create a new thread using this link if you have a different query.
