How to fix Error Code 0x800CCC0E in outlook365?

Hi,

I can't receive my email but i can send email. I am using outlook 365. I have this error message re sychronizing subscribed folders.... with reported error 0x800CCC0E. I followed some of the posted message here before re the issue but the steps by step solution guide do not follow as when i go to File/account setting/account setting/double click on the problem email address, it does not have More Setting for me to choose.  The only thing i have got to either Reset Mail Setting or Next. When i go to Next, it says Account successfully updated, which i still can't receive email. Should i go Reset Mail Setting? I did not want to stuff it up further, so i hesitant to go Reset Mail Setting.

It looks like is the OneDrive sync issue with archive.pst according to ''Onedrive needs your attention with 1 sync issue''. It has archive.pst and says ''this file is in use. This item is open in another program. Close the item to continue syncing it.''  I went to archive.pst from Outlook as it requested, but what do i do here to sync? what does that mean to close it to continue syncing it. I have not even open the archive.pst file. The instruction is hopeless. Do i have move the file to somewhere else as there are 2 other archive.pst files there already from Jan2021.

By the way, i can send and receive the same emails from my phone but just not receiving email from my laptop.

Can someone please help with a step by step instructions in how to fix this issue?  Thanks very much.

    Hello Cosine64,

Many thanks for your prompt updates with above information. If other users who use the same email service are having the same problem and this issue related with your ISP service provider, please kindly contact them to further confirm the status of this issue and request further assistance.

Besides, regarding your concerns about the More settings option in Outlook, the interface has changed and you may try the following steps to check the result: on the Account settings window, choose your IMAP account and click Repair > Advanced options and select the checkbox before “Let m repair my account manually“ > click Repair, then you will be able to edit the Incoming server and the Outgoing server settings for your IMAP account. If all was OK previously and you have added/changed nothing, in the first instance run an Office repair

Restart the PC, once fully loaded, repair Office,> Apps & Features>Select Office your version>Modify/Repair, once the repair completes re-test

    1. A pst data file connected to MS Outlook cannot be located on OneDrive
    2. You cannot, in settings, repair an IMAP or Exchange mail account (*.ost)

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks, but what is desktop outlook client?

Also how do you just back up your outlook data? or you mean back up everything?

How do you create another Outlook account when i have already got one? I have many email accounts added to one Outlook account.

    1. Error message as below:

    1. Outlook client version is 2104, Microsoft 365.
    2. The problem email account is IMAP/SMTP.

I have also got this sync issue appears there, does this have anything to do with the receiving email issues. I am not sure how long has it been there. It could have been there before i could not receive emails as there was no error symbol on the onedrive cloud icon until i clicked on the Onedrive cloud icon and saw this message below.

    Hello Cosine64,

Many thanks for your prompt reply with above information. From your description, you can send and receive emails from phone of the same email account, which means this issue is related with Outlook desktop client.

If repair Office application cannot help to fix this problem for you, we recommend you may backupyour data firstly and try to create an Outlook profile and addyour account to the new profile to see if there is the same problem.

If there is the same problem with the new Outlook profile, to help you better and further, we would like to collect the following information with you:

    1. Please send us a screenshoot of the complete error message you received.
    2. Please send us a screenshoot of your Outlook client version information in File > Office account.
    3. Do you use an IMAP type of account in Outlook?

    Best regards,

    Jennifer

    Hi Palcouk,

Thanks for the information. I tried the Modify/repair but it still did not work, still can't receive email but i can send email no problems. I can receive and send emails from my phone of the same email account but just cannot receive from my laptop. I tried below from other suggestions from Community, but it does not follow as i don't have some of the options below underlined. It still says it is sync issue with archive.pst, just don't know what to do with that as it does not show me what to do. Any other suggestions to solve this issue?  Thanks.

    Open Outlook.
Open File > Tools > Account Settings.
On the Account Settings window, click on the E-mail Tab. The following window should open.
Select your email account from the list.
A new window called Email account should open. On it find the “More Setting” button and click it.
The following “Internet E-mail Setting” window should open.
    Open the Outgoing Server tab.
On it, check the “My outgoing server (SMTP) required authentication” box.
Click on OK to apply the changes.

Once the process is complete, restart Outlook and check if error code 0x800ccc0e persists.
