Hello,

I use Outlook also on my iOS devices iPhone and iPad to receive Outlook mails.

I have two accounts installed, one is connected to the email-addres from my website.

The other one is a Hotmail account.

The one connected to my website display the mails since appr. 2 weeks in a distorted manner.

The text shows characters and cadres which should not be there,

f.i.

=A0=C2=A0=C2

i=ndeed (instea of indeed)

please let =me know (words get separated with the =)

and so on.

Any suggestions what could be the cause and solution?

Thanks in advance

FrankW

I've contacted Office Chat Support, and they state this issue is currently unknown and I'm the first one to report it to them. Afterwards, they advised me to contact Outlook In-app support via the Outlook for iOS app and provide them with the case number from our Office Support chat.

**I would like to advise everyone experiencing this problem to do the same, so the Support-teams can gather more data and track down the issue.**So please, contact Office Support via the web or Outlook for iOS Support via the app.

    Edit:

Outlook In-app support has informed me the issue has been reported by several other users and is currently under investigation by the technical team. The issue will most likely be fixed in a future update of Outlook for iOS, but there's no date for this fix yet.

    Hi All,

We appreciate all the information you provided here on the thread. However, this may really be a compatibility issue between the third-party email domains to the Outlook app. Additionally, this may have something to do with the latest update from iOS. What we can suggest right now is to contact our Office Chat Support team for in-depth assistance. They have the necessary tools to thoroughly check your account and further investigate this from their end.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Should you have further questions, please let us know.

    Hi,

I'd like to report the same issue, and might be able to provide more info. Outlook on iOS seems to have trouble handling anything but plain-text emails on IMAP-accounts from Ziggo (Dutch ISP). The problem doesn't appear to affect iOS' default Mail-app. I've tried reinstalling the app and tested it on multiple iOS devices (iPad, iPhone), all with the latest iOS-version installed.

Users on the Dutch iCulture-community first reported this issue on October 27th and suspect it's related to iOS 14.1. I'll also be raising an issue with Ziggo to be sure they haven't changed anything on their end.

We appreciate you posting this concern here in Microsoft Community. Based on your post, we understand that you're experiencing challenges with strange characters appearing in your Outlook app for iOS. Allow us to check this further and assist you the best way we can.

This might be a compatibility issue between the other account and your Outlook app. Just to confirm, are you using a third-party domain? Also, does the issue occur on your Hotmail account?
