You can either modify the registry or using 3rd party tool. If you choose to modify the registry route then please make sure you back up the registry first. The 3rd party tool offers 60 days trial which is ideal if you only want to delete the search history once.

thank Daniel. but I think my question was not detailed enough. i was referring to the 'search inbox' bar where you would use key words to search for an email. when I start typing there it always brings a drop down list with prior key words I used I am trying to disable this list so I will not come up. see below. I wasn't able to capture a picture with the drop down list as it disappeared when I open the snipping tool.

    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

If you want to clear per entry

You can simply click "X" if you just want to remove per entry (Both on Outlook desktop app & Outlook webmail). The "X" icon will appear when you hover your mouse over the email address on the autocomplete dropdown menu. However, if Outlook doesn’t cooperate then please refer to troubleshooting tips in the following article: https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/delete-autoco...

If you want to clear all entries from the auto-complete list on the Outlook desktop app. You can refer to this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/mana...

If you want to turn off the autocomplete list and prevent Outlook from suggesting recipients: Go to file tab > options > mail > under the "send messages" section, please uncheck the "Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, Cc, and Bcc lines check box".
