    Hello StevenWilker,

Thank you for getting back to us.

    • Is your Office pro plus 2019 provided by your company? because Office professional plus is a volume license and Microsoft don't sell it for consumer use and you can only get this license if you're working on a certain company and only the company IT admin can purchase the legitimate license of Office pro plus 2019 and it's quite expensive though.
    • Please access your webmail and check if the " Third Party access Security" on your account is turned on?

How to Update Email Security Settings

    1. Open Xfinity Connect
    2. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon, then select Settings. Email settings
    3. Click Security.
    4. Uncheck or uncheck the box under Third Party Access Security to prevent or allow third-party programs access to your Xfinity Connect email. Email settings third party access security unchecked
    • Since you've mentioned that you have a separate licensed of Office 2019 installed on a different computer and it works perfectly fine, then we can check the server settings from there and copy all the server settings and make sure all the settings are identical before you hit the test settings or the NEXT button to configure.

On the other computer that is working, open Outlook > Click File > Account settings > Account settings > double click your email account > then try to check all the settings like the incoming and outgoing mail port settings and if ever you notice that you missed something on the other try to change it and reconfigure again.

The server settings settings I have provided below will somehow resolve the issue - you may try to use the default one which is the - 143 with SSL on and port 25 None.

We look forward to your response on the results. If you have other clarifications about this matter, you can get back to us by replying to this post.

    Sincerely,

I had already tried these port/server changes without success. Tried them again this morning and outlook would not make changes and repeatedly asked for email password. I then backed out and restarted the computer and now it seems to be working. we will see for how long.

Hello StevenWilker,     Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate that you've taken the time to post your concern here in Microsoft Community Forum. We understand that you’re having trouble sending emails in Outlook 2019. Let’s check on this together and find ways to address this matter. Now in order for us to better assist you on this matter I need to ask the following:

    1. May I know the email account you're concerned about?
    2. How did you configure your email account? Is it IMAP/POP or Exchange?
    3. Can you please provide us a photo of the error message?
    4. What edition of Outlook are you using? ( ex. Office pro plus 2019 or Office standard 2019 and Office Home and Business 2019.) Please follow the screenshot I have provided below.

Image It appears that your email account isn't configured the right way or your account has been configured incorrectly. For example your account configuration is IMAP then you accidentally configure it as Exchange or you set it up as IMAP however the port server settings is incorrect.

Please confirm if the photo I have provided below is the exact error you got.

Numerous things can cause 0x800ccc1a error. The common reasons include:

    1. Encryption Type

In some cases, the encryption type specified (typically SSL) can also be the cause of the problem.

    2. Damaged Outlook Profile

If your Microsoft Outlook profile is corrupted or damaged, it can also be the reason behind the issue.

    3. Incorrect Port Number

If the connection you are using has wrong IMAP, SMTP, or POP3 connectivity, a 0x800ccc1a error message can pop up. Usually, the user will set an incorrect port number for the outgoing server (STMP) or incoming server (POP).

    4. Anti-Virus

If the installed antivirus software on your system has an email scanning feature, it can cause the error to occur.

Kindly provide us a detailed information of your concern so that we can provide the appropriate resolution.

We look forward to your response. Sincerely,Juhn Jac,Consumer M365 Forum Moderator

    1. May I know the email account you're concerned about? Not sure what you mean by this. it is my comcast.net account.
    2. How did you configure your email account? Is it IMAP/POP or Exchange? IMAP
    3. Can you please provide us a photo of the error message? No, not sure how to do that. Current error message is "Task '[emal] - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0D: 'Cannot find the email server. Verify the server information in your account properties.' Prior error was 0x800ccc1a and showed exactly like the picture above. I tried several fixes described on forums, including scanning my outlook data file (which is shown as a .ost file), using inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe), manually trying to change server settings. When I try to change, I get message that server dropped or changed unsuccessful and values revert to previous. Incoming mail is still working (imap.comcast.net; port 993, ssl/tsl encryption); but outgoing mail is not (smtp.comcast.net, port 465, ssl/tsl encryption); tried switching to port 587, but that did not work either. Ran a microsoft diagnostic tool, but it could not find outgoing mail server either. Tried changing outgoing server to smtps.comcast.net but that did not work either.
    4. What edition of Outlook are you using? ( ex. Office pro plus 2019 or Office standard 2019 and Office Home and Business 2019.) Please follow the screenshot I have provided below. Running Office pro plus 2019. I had this problem on windows 10; it would come and go with restarts, but then would not resolve. Now running windows 11, still have issue. Office says it is up to date.

We are running outlook pro plus 2019 (separately purchased with its own license) on our other PC, with same settings, and it works fine.
