Outlook 365 calendar reminders reset to none

I have not been able to find a pattern with this, but frequently have appointments reset their reminders to NONE.

It is not isolated to my computer. I notice this when several of us join a meeting late and say (in unison) -- I didn't get a reminder for this meeting today. We check the meeting or instance of the meeting and sure enough it has reminder = NONE, but the organizer sent the meeting with reminders on or the reminders were there in the previous instance of the meeting.

One consideration is that it might happen more frequently for recurring meetings, but it is so hard to pinpoint a pattern.

NOTE: I also experienced this at my last company that was using Outlook 16 at the time.

This is quite frustrating b/c of the seemingly random, yet frequent nature of this issue.

All the old questions are closed & say, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, but our company keeps our office365 uptodate

That is useful to consider (after you realize that your appointment's reminders have been deleted) -- thank you for that

Still doesn't answer why the reminders get deleted. I hope an internal ticket has been opened to investigate that aspect.

    Thanks for reaching out.

Folks have already changed that setting and appoints start out with a reminder, but then at some point the reminders disappear.

I've tried to look for a pattern, but other than it possibly being more prevalent on recurring meetings, I haven't found a pattern.

    Hi Gardner Wheeler,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft community.

Based on your description, I'm not sure if you want to finally enable reminder or disable it. To enable or disable:

    1. Click File > Options > Calendar
    2. Under Calendar options, select or clear Default reminders.

This applies to all the existing appointments and meetings in the calendar. Save this setting for future appointments and meetings.

See reference: Set or remove reminders - Outlook (microsoft.com)

Hope it helps! If any update, welcome to share with us.

    Thanks & Stay safe,

    Qian

This problem has been been happening for years and my company updates Office monthly & it's now near impossible to find the version of office you're currently on
