How do I know what password I chose for Outlook app in my samsung android phone?

Hello friends,

I activated the Outlook app on the Samsung android phone the other day. Outlook app asked me to set up a password to get started with the app. I did so- gave a password to start with the app, in haste. I chose the same password for my mobile device. Now the password is forgotten and the phone is locked. Any advice, to know what password I chose to set up the outlook app? Can Microsoft community/team help me know what alphabets were used to get started with the app on android phone?

Many thanks

    Hi Simbarashe,

I checked the article. I couldn't really understand that. I just want to know from Microsoft what password I chose for setting up outlook app in my android? What would be the way to know the password because it is the same password I chose for my mobile phone and I don't remember. It is so frustrating.

    Regards

    Kaleem

    Hello Kaleem,

    Welcome to Microsoft community!

My I know what type of account do you have (business, education or home)?

Do you have your phone number or another email address as a backup?

In your case since your phone is locked I suggest you contact your phone manufacturer to help you unlock your phone. If you manage to unlock your phone, on the sign-in screen, type your email address and select I forgot my password below the password text box and follow the prompts. You can also submit your concern here on Outlook for iOS and Android help.

I hope this information will help. Thank you for posting on Microsoft Forum.

    Best regards,

    Simbarashe

    Hi Kaleem,

    Greetings

Kindly check this article on how to generate an App password. If your admin has enabled multifactor authenticator you should be able to do it .As for the phone I am afraid there is nothing we can do.

    Kind regards,

    Simbarashe

    Hi Simbarashe,

    Thanks for your kind response.

My outlook is the education version. I have a phone number linked with the outlook email but no alternate email address.

I have already asked the phone manufacturer. Their procedure to unlock is only possible if my 'Remote control' option was enabled in the phone. Then I could unlock the mobile phone with my laptop/PC. Unfortunately, the Remote control option was not enabled.

It is unlikely to unlock the phone since I don't remember the password.

I just want to know when setting up the 'outlook app' on my android phone I gave a password to get started with. Because the App asked me to do so. That password was for Outlook App. If I come to know 'outlook app password' it would be the same as I used it for Mobile phone.

Cant't Microsoft team/community help me know what alphabets/characters I used to set the outlook app on the phone?

    Many thanks

    Kaleem
