How do I remove the Teams meeting link from a calendar invite?!

I purposefully made sure that it was not toggled on. It is for an external meeting so we have to use zoom instead of teams as everyone doesn't have access to teams. When I made an edit to the attendee list it automatically added in a Teams link. I can't remove it and I've searched and searched for a way to remove it. Please help!

Thanks!
Jane

    Hello Jane,

You can simply click on the Description field and press Ctrl + A to select and then delete Teams meeting link, then use the Zoom meeting Add-ins to insert a link for Zoom meeting and click Send, when the attendees receive the updated meeting invitation email, this meeting will display as a Zoom meeting rather than Teams meeting on their calendar. Please see:

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks again for the quick reply. I am able to add the new link, but the "teams" meeting does not go away. That is the problem. In your picture #3. you can see that it still says "Join Teams Meeting" to the right of the zoom link you put in. Then when you open the calendar invite the zoom link is there, but it also still has the Join teams. It appears to be locked in on yours as well. Please see below how it has the zoom link but also has the "Join" link which is to teams. It seems impossible to delete that teams link, and I don't understand why you can't unlink them. If you can help to find that please let me know!

    Hi Jennifer -

I am having the same problem. I tried to remove the Teams meeting by removing the teams information from the description, and adding a Zoom meeting instead using the Zoom plugin as noted in your instructions, but now I just have a Zoom meeting and Teams Meeting in the event. (See screenshot). Is there any other way to remove the Teams meeting from the event?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately that does not work as the meeting was already created and sent out. There is no option to remove the Teams meetings. It is locked and there is no button to cancel or remove it. (pic below) How do I do it when it is like this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

I have met the same problem.

It seems your method only delete the Teams meeting information in the description, but people still have the 'teams join' option either by right-clicking of the meeting in the calendar or in the task bar after opening the invitation.

It seems this is a bug for the Teams add-in.

If you could help us to report it, it would be many thanks.

    KR,
    H
