Keeping OneNote and Outlook tasks in sync

I know that you can create an outlook task from a onenote item by adding the 'Outlook Task' flag. Additionally, you can create a OneNote item from an Outlook Task by clicking the 'Linked Task Notes'. However, once the task and onenote item are created, there does not appear to be a way to keep their title in sync. If I change the subject of the task, it does not change the OneNote item and if i change the OneNote item it does not change the Outlook task subject.

Is there any way to keep these in sync?

    Thank you for your reply.

I am trying to use Outlook, OneNote and To Do together to create a total system. It seems like there are some integrations

between the three which is nice, but eventually I would like to see the following:

    • Categories in Outlook are replicated to To Do (not just in the web version), and replicated to OneNote as Tags.
    • Tasks with dates can optionally be shown on the calendar (perhaps near the "All Day" section at the top of the date)
    • To Do notes sync with OneNote entries
    • Changing an entry in Outlook, OneNote or To Do changes the entry everywhere

Maybe there is some potential in Power Automate that I could look into to create some of these ...

    Hi timothy,

    Greetings.

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

I have just tested the same situation and judging from my results, it doesn't sync after changing the subject.

However I also tried using the web apps, and from there it syncs instantly after changing the subjects.

That being said even though the apps syncs between in the web, I have only noticed the changes in outlook desktop app.

OneNote doesn't apply the changes that's why changes made from their also do not sync.

From what I understand, the reason is that In OneNote they are more of notes/ to Do than task when you think about the details used when you create them in outlook and in OneNote.

Please let me know if you have further concern.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards

    Mac
