Outlook 365 - how do I advanced search?

I can type in the search bar within outlook 365, but there is no advanced search option. How do I do this? In the old outlook I could search by date or many other items. How do I do this in 365?

Second - how do I get the ribbon back in outlook 365 and the calendar, I find I am way less productive with this new version.

Thanks!

Thanks. That makes way more sense. I bought office 365 but was using the mail that came up in the start menu which apparently was not the correct one! YAY.

Now I have to setup my emails in that app too, but it's looking better so far. Thanks!

    Hi Karl,

Thanks, but my outlook and calendar do not look like the screen shot you sent. There is no down arrow in the search box unfortunately.. I get the magnifying glass and x to close in the search bar and that is all. If I could get the ribbon to show like in your screenshot that would fix all my problems.

I would like to turn the ribbon on if possible for both mail and calendar. I can't seem to find how to do this for this version.

My screenshots are below. I did not crop top nor bottom, this is how the app looks on my computer.

    Hello NaomiGropp

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

The <Advanced Search> options are available by clicking on the down arrow in the <Search Box> as shown in the top part of the screenshot

How to set the ribbon display option are shown in the bottom part of the screenshot. However, am not at all clear what you mean by ".....and the calendar".If you mean that you cannot see the <calendar> folders in the Outlook Nav Pane, click in the <Calendar> icon on the bottom of the Nav Pane.

As near as I can tell from your screenshots, you are using the free Win10/11 apps for <Mail> and <calendar> - it is definitely not Outlook 365. If Office is installed, it would be launch by explicitly selecting it from the Start menu as shown in the screenshot

Would I be correct in assuming that the way you are launching these is by clicking on <Mail> and <Calendar> from the <Start> menu? For the rest of this response, going to assume the answer is yes. So......

    #1 - The W10/11 <Mail> app has no ribbon

#2 - <Advanced Search> would only apply to the Outlook desktop program - not the free W10/11 apps
