Ask support to unblock an Outlook.fr account

Hello everybody,

Like many people, I recently received a notification to verify the identity of my account. I can understand as I'm currently traveling from one location to others locations. The message is this one:

"We have detected unusual activity on your Microsoft account xxxx**@outlook.fr**, or believe your credentials are at risk. For your security and to ensure only you have access to your account, we will ask you to verify your identity and change your password."

The first step asked me to enter the last four digits of my phone, but the problem is I have put the land number when I created my account 10 years ago, and my country doesn't accept anymore SMS code on land number since 2014 ! That's mean I have no possibility to have access to the code sent by Microsoft !!! Do you have any solution for this issue ?

Next step was to fill out the forms, but no chance as well I got all the times the email saying :

"We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account ******@outlook.fr. Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership."

I would like to have your attention for one critical point in the form regarding this question :

"Have you used any of the Microsoft products below with your account before ? "

  • Outlook.com or Hotmail
  • Skype
  • Xbox

I see Outlook.com but not outlook.fr, I try anyway with this option as I collected my recent email addresses of contacts that I have sent emails and also the subject lines but again I received the email from Microsoft: "unfortunately, our automated system ..."

After reading the full email from Microsoft, I noticed this sentence:

"Make sure to use the correct domain for your account, such as hotmail.com, live.com, or outlook.com. Keep in mind that your email address may be country specific. For example, if you created your account in Sweden, your domain would be “hotmail.co.se” rather than “hotmail.com”.

Is Microsoft has another form for specific address like outlook.fr ?

Thanks for your help.

PS: I have very important emails in my mailbox like many people...

    Hello everybody,

Like many people, I recently received a notification to verify the identity of my account. I can understand as I'm currently traveling from one location to others locations...

You have to prepare your account for access while travelling.

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/how-to-access-outlook-com-when-traveling-c44f16da-7156-4890-853c-286aafeda87e

Trying to recover your account while you are still travelling is a waste of time and keeps your account locked which is the opposite of what you want.

    This is from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13967/microsoft-account-unusual-sign-in

    Note

If you’re traveling and can’t access the email or phone that you've associated with your account, there are some other options:

    • If you brought a device you normally sign in to and you've set it as a trusted device, you can sign in from that device and get back into your account.
    • If you left your phone at home and know someone who has access to it, you can ask them to tell you the security code sent to the device.

If these options aren't available, you'll be able to get back in to your account after you sign in from a trusted device or from a usual location.

Sorry but I have ready take care of all your suggestions before to post on this community forum. I would like to have a real discussion with someone from Microsoft to unblock my account.

It's totally crazy from Microsoft to block accounts like that without asking people x days before if their own personal information are still valid like phone number, city, ....

Hi there! This is Raech. I'm an Independent Advisor and an Outlook.com user like you. I'm sorry to hear about the issue.

Based on what you have described, it looks like you have already gone through the Account Recovery form online, which is currently the only form of recovery available and this is fully automated. Meaning, no support personnel from Microsoft is able to recover or reset the account for you.

Also, there is only one recovery form to fill out for all accounts, which includes Outlook.fr.

You can re-submit the form twice a day at most until you are successful. Please review the tips provided below when filling up this form. It should help in some way.

Please do note that this is a public user-to-user community forum. None of us here work for Microsoft and it is beyond our capability to assist directly with account or login-related issues.

    Sincerely,
    Raech C.
