How to open a message from inbox in a new window when reading pane is disabled

Hello,

I disabled the reading pane from my Outlook 365 Web inbox (cause that's the way i like it). However, i am now unable to open my messages in separate windows! There is no icon to do so, and i cannot double-click on the message. This is really unefficient. The only workaround i found is to duplicate my inbox tab for every message.

Thank you for your help.

    Hi Sebastian Breton

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

Please confirm what version of Outlook you're using?

Does this occur when using both Outlook web app or Outlook desktop client?

Also confirm if this only happens when you try to open messages from your inbox or other folders too?

If you're using Outlook web app kindly log into your Outlook using the InPrivate window which can be done by navigating to the top right of your browser on the more options (…) and try to open your inbox messages.

You may also try to use another browser and see if the issue persists then.

    Regards,

    Momo

    I don't know the version. It says Office 365 E1. I login with outlook.office.com

    I don't use a desktop client

    Yes, any folder

Same result with InPrivate. Also tried another browser (in total, Chrome, Chromium and Firefox) and another computer too. Pop-ups enabled. But i just noticed something weird : if i double-click before the page has finished loading, the message opens in a separate window. But once the page is finished loading, it stops working. I think the double-click is standard behavior, but then disabled because the reading pane is disabled.

    Thank you
