Outlook 365 vs Outlook 2016

While taking an introductory course "Computer Skills for the Workplace", I attempted to use Office 365 for coursework designed for Office 2016. It was very confusing, especially as an unconfident beginner attempting to navigate missing and changed features. I plan on retaking the course using Office 2019 and have already installed Word, Excel and Powerpoint from that suite. They match much more closely to the professor's lessons than 365 did.

My concern is that I need Outlook 2016 but can not find it through Microsoft store. Attempting to match Outlook 365 to the lesson plan was disheartening, I often spent over 6 hours a day looking for missing features - "365" doesn't feel as intuitive and user friendly as the lesson plan appeared.

Where can I find Outlook 2016, from a reputable seller? The ideal is through Microsoft.com (note: I still own and have access to Outlook 365 until July 2022).

    Hello Tiffany

Hi, I'm Karl, an independent advisor and will try to help you with this.

Office 2016 (or any individual '2016 app i.e. Outlook) is no longer available via the Microsoft Store.

You would have to find a reseller that still sells older versions of Office or individual apps. The one word of caution that I would give is to be wary of any online sites that offer Microsoft products at prices that are "too good to be true" since in 99.999% of those cases, it's because those prices are.

Before replying, I did check the BestBuy site and only found that "marketplace" resellers were offering older versions of Office or standalone apps - BestBuy only offered '2019 & '365. Also found Outlook '2016 offered on Amazon but to be honest, would personally be leary since what I did find wasn't being sold by Amazon itself but through one of the resellers.
