Verizon.net (Now An AOL Based Email) Accounts Are No Longer Sending Or Receiving Through Outlook On Windows

Hi everyone,

I'm in desperate need of a savior. My verizon.net email addresses (and two of them are used for my business) are no longer syncing up with my Outlook desktop program. They'll neither send nor receive successfully anymore. Some years ago Verizon dissolved its email service, or more specifically ported it over to AOL. That's been a nonevent with AOL's web based service, but now none of the four Verizon.net email accounts I have will work with Outlook. I manually input and tried both POP3 and IMAP settings just as they're supposed to be, and now none of them are working. I'd be very grateful for any guidance someone can offer me.

Thanks

Justin

I can honestly say that the link from above: https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/yahoo-aol-acc... worked for me today. I have been frustrated with this since I got my new PC in June of 2021. Today I felt like I should try again so I don't always have to run to my iphone or ipad to get my Verizon.net emails. I was amazed it worked so fast. Thank Goodness. Just to be clear, I used the option that has AOL "Generate" a password.

same issue. first it changes to yahoo servers which is not correct and tried imap and pop3 settings for kicks...nothing...i have not gotten new mail since 1/26. but it seems i can send out email. i tried the auto generated password and it does not work. i can see mail if i go to aol which i hate. a month ago i got a slammed with spam and aol was a complete fail on assistance. it finally seemed to fix itself. now this. either aol or ms needs to resolve this as i pay for 365 and if it doesn't get better, i will try freeware and stop paying for 365 as it so damn quirky and i can't find settings that easily or online/app help is totally useless.

also hate having my hotmail account with 365 anyway to get rid of it in 365 and let it be a stand alone email service.

another issue, email on iphone appears briefly then goes straight to trash...i have to read mail in the trash folder. aol and ms and apple, no help and i have tried numerous times. outlook 365 is a real pain and there was not much on documentation for these issues or even how to resolve install issues with office 365 and hotmail...the browser app for outlooks different than the one if go to office 365 on the desktop..why

    Hello JustinLeff

All email accounts that use AOL servers require the use of an AOL <App Password> to be used as the email account password in Outlook desktop (part of Office). There has been a major uptick of people reporting the same issue with their Verizon account which indicates that this requirement has been rolled out to more of their customer base.
