Scam and sexually explicit emails

I am receiving at least 50 scam and sexually explicit emails every day, it began with just a few of these emails. What I have noticed is that these emails seem to have doubled or trebled in numbers after reporting them, this appears to me that I am being punished for reporting them, it may seem far fetched to some but not me, but because of the huge number of these emails have been received directly after reporting them then I am suspecting that these emails are being sent from the very people who are supposed to be stopping them.

I know how to block the email addresses of the senders but this is no good because they will use another email address afterwards and so on.

Ive tried setting rules to stop these emails from arriving in my junk, I dont want them at all and select delete for the rules, this does not work. Microsoft, Google etc etc are worth billions and Im sure that they can use this wealth to put a permanent stop to it

If those messages are arriving in the Junk Email folder, they're already considered blocked. You can't prevent the delivery, only control the destination folder. Also, rules work only for the Inbox. It's pointless to create rules for messages delivered to the Junk Email folder because the junk filter runs before the rules engine.

If you don't want to know what the junk messages contain, don't look at them. They'll be deleted automatically after 10 to 30 days.

    Hi, TonyJohnstone1.

I'm Jen, an Outlook user just like you. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

I'm sorry to learn that you're still getting a lot of spam emails. I understand that you were able to block the senders, however, blocking them will not stop emails from going to Junk folder because its exactly where blocked/spam emails are being routed to. At the same time, creating a rule does not apply to Junk folder but its still a good idea to create a rule to keep your Inbox clean.

Aside from what you have already tried, I also shared an article below that you might find helpful. You can check the "Other options to help keep junk or spam out of your inbox" for additional tips. Also, you can try using an alias when signing up to websites to protect your main email address from spammers/hackers.

I hope this somehow helps. Feel free to share how it went.

    Kind regards,
