From button missing in Outlook

I've noticed that the From button is missing from the Show fields section when composing a new e-mail in the Outlook desktop app. I have the BCC button but no From button. I have the From field active already but I have another user that I'm providing support to who does not have the From field active and is also missing the button. Was there a recent update which changed the way the From field is activated?

    Alan,

    The Outlook Team fixed the bug that originally caused the issue so it should prevent this occurring again. The bug is first fixed in build 15110.10000. Until that build can get out to prod the feature that caused the issue is also turned off. The root cause of the issue had to do with how Outlook was handling aliases.

    I also ran into this issue but the only way I could get the From option back was to create a new Outlook Profile, Create an Outlook profile (microsoft.com). Please try this and see if it will mitigate it for you.

    This fix will be in Version 2204 currently scheduled for ~4/25. It will show on this page as soon as it starts rolling out, Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date) - Office release notes | Microsoft Docs.

    I am not sure though if that fix will help for machines already in the bad state. It will prevent the issue from happening again though.

    We have several users reporting the same thing, and it is occurring for me as well. Do you have an update on this issue?

    The From button is missing in newly composed emails created from the locally installed Outlook app . Oddly, we have a shared mailbox with an unsent draft email from March 8 2022, and that message *does* show a From selection.

    Version is 2203 Build 15028.20094 Click-to-Run Current Channel Preview

    OS is Windows 10 Enterprise version 10.0.19044

    It's happening for the locally installed Outlook app only, Outlook Online is not affected.

    1. At once, may I please know detailed screenshot page about Office version channel from your side and from affected user side for further analysis?
    • Outlook > File > Office Account and provide us detailed screenshot page.
    1. Further, please kindly perform Online repair Office application and see if it gives any different result or not.

    Note: Before Online repair Office application, please kindly take a backup of whole Office data into the another location for data loss prevention.

    1. Meanwhile, could you please provide us detailed screenshot page about "I have another user that I'm providing support to who does not have the From field active and is also missing the button" from affected user side?

    Should also mention that the From field does appear in the Customize Ribbon menu. Have tried running Outlook with /cleanviews /resetnavpane and /safe switches but none have worked.
