Successful sign in that isnt me

So I just got a message about 20 minutes ago that a suspicious activity on my account has been detected. Obviously it wasn't me so I went ahead and clicked "Not me" button and changed my password

What I am worried about is the part where when I checked the log to see everything I saw that this suspicious activity, even tough it says resolved, has a "Successful sign in" next to it.
If anyone has a similar experience or any answer as to what I should and need to do please post them. I saw a few more attempts all from different countries so likely they were using a VPN. I turned on a 2fa for my account but am still scared as to what they can and will do. Any help with any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If the compromiser is still signed into your account, they will most likely use your info, especially when your bank or social media accounts are linked to your email. But try using the "Sign me out" option in the Advanced Security options and it will help you log out within 24 hours from every browser and app that your account is currently logged into. You can go to https://account.microsoft.com/security?refd=acc... then scroll down to the Sign me out section.

I hope this would at least help ease your mind.

    Hi, Dejan_grujicic.

I'm Jen, an Outlook user just like you. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

Seeing a successful sign in attempt is alarming if its from an untrusted device or unfamiliar region. I also see several attempts from different countries everyday so I find the two-step verification and the Microsoft authenticator app effective in protecting my account. In your case, the compromiser might signed in but its good to know that you were able to change your password right away.

Aside from that, I also suggest following the steps in the article below to make sure that there are no changes made and to keep your account safe.

    Hello JC,

Thank you for your reply. I did all of the above posted steps and instructions in order to secure my account. One thing I can't help but wonder is if this person is still on my account and what can / will they do.

I greatly appreciate the quick reply and help, but this is the only thing left that kind of scares me.
