You posted in the Account management, security, and privacy section to this forum.

Do you mean the alternate email address where a code will be sent?

Microsoft account security info & verification codes

it asked me to add an alternative email, so I added one and now it said for 30 days I will not be able to access the security section to make any changes.

after 30 days will I be able to edit that section and make changes?

so I will be able to remove/change my recovery email and remove the alternative email address I added (to be able to edit that section)?

You pressed 'I don't have any of these', so any changes that you make may not take effect for 30 days.

During the 30 days, you will not be able to access the security section to make any changes.

Hi Pfp_855, hope you're doing well. I’m Ian, and I’m happy to help you today.

You can follow the steps in the article below to delete your alias.

    https://support.microsoft.com/topic/add-or-remo...

Please remind that once an alias address is removed, that action is both immediate and permanent. The deleted alias address can never be recovered and there is no process that allows you to restore it. When an alias is removed, an message is displayed outlining the consequences of the action and once it's accepted, the alias address is gone. Even if that message wasn't displayed for whatever reason, it in no way would alter the action. There's no point in contacting Microsoft Support since you will only be told the same thing.

This is a user-to-user support forum and I am a fellow user.

I hope this helps, but please let me know if you need anything else.
