Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
After trawling the web, and reading all of the very unhelpful responses from Microsoft themselves I have found a work around:
- Get someone to forward the invite back to you.
- Accept the Meeting
- Download the meeting as ICS file to your desktop
- Delete the meeting from your calendar
- Import the meeting back into your calendar via File, Open & Export, Import/Export, Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs), select the file on your desktop and import.
- This allows the cancellation and control of the invite again.
Note, if this is a long running series, you will need to make sure you are sent the series, not the occurrence.
Hope this helps!
