Reset Outlook Calendar

Somehow, I've managed to corrupt my Outlook default Calendar, and the only View I can see is attached.

I cannot see or switch to a Month to view or a list. The ribbon view is completely different and offers no choice to change the view. I've looked in File>Options and cannot see anything, but as other Calendars (Birthdays, TEMP etc) appear as expected, it seems unlikely that it is a global setting.

The image shows the screen view if I select VIEW from the ribbon when using the default Calendar. When looking at it in outlook.com, it appears exactly as expected with a month to view.

I've tried creating a new profile, that made no difference. I've exported the calendar from outlook.com and imported it into TEMP and it works fine,

Any ideas on how to reset it.

Thanks

Sadly, /cleanviews had no impact whatsoever, which seems rather odd baring in mind that that would seem to be its role in life.

However, your suggestions did start me on a route to a solution.

Firstly, whilst I couldn't see the "Reset View" button, I realised I could add it to the Quick Access bar which was visible. Sadly, it was greyed out.

However, I then looked at one of the other Calendars which was displaying OK, and went to View > Change View > Apply Current View to Other Calendar Folders.

And that worked perfectly. I only wish I knew how I got into this mess! I did not knowingly make that change, but must have done it somehow, in resetting my Calendars. I was fiddling about trying to hide the Birthdays Calendar as I have not been able to turn it off despite doing so in Outlook.com, and I probably changed something in error.

Many many thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Volunteers in Community Groups give up so much to help, and I for one am very grateful.

    Colin

I haven't repro'd the missing ribbon commands but think I know the weird calendar view. You have a list view applied and have the reading pane on, and have a wide compact format setting.

I would restart Outlook using the /cleanviews switch. This will erase any custom views you might be using.

Close Outlook. Right click on the Start button and choose Run or press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type or paste the following into the Open field then press Enter or click Ok. (There is a space before /.)

    outlook.exe /cleanviews

    Hello bonalymac

I'm Diane, an Office Apps & Services MVP specializing in Outlook, and I’m happy to help you today.

Click the 3 dots to expand the overflow - is Change view on it? Or click the V on the far right to switch to the full ribbon. Or go into Options > Customize Ribbon and reset the ribbon.

All else fails, do a quick repair.

    Repair Office

Restart the PC, once fully loaded, repair Office,> Apps & Features>Select Office your version>Modify /Repair, once the repair completes re-test

You dont need that third party pdf utility
