Outlook Reactions no longer showing up for other recipients included in conversation

Hi all,

My staff receives email notices that include important documents that must be forwarded on. These emails come from an automated system and it copies both the users in. They used to be able to react to the email so that when the other looked at it in their box, they would see the reaction and know it has been dealt with. Since about 2 weeks ago, reactions are no longer showing up for the other user, it seems only the user that reacts to the email, and the sender of the email, can see these reactions, whereas before anyone included in the email chain could see these reactions.

Was there a recent change to how this behaviour works? Is there a GPO or setting that was possibly enabled that could cause this? Or is this the intended behaviour of the reaction system?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ryan

    Dear CH_Ryan,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

I did the test from my side. Yes, I went through the same situation as you. As you understand, only the sender of the email and the user who reacted to the email can see these reactions, other users cannot see.
    Sender:
    Image
other people (Neither the sender nor react to the email)
    Image

This seems to be the expected behavior of the reaction, and at the same time, there are some limitations to this feature that can also affect the invisibility of the reaction if the user does not meet these conditions.

    Hi,

I have also encountered this issue, and was wondering if there would be an enable function for fellow recipients of the email to see the reactions from others.

    Thank You,

    D
