How do I convert my MS Outlook contacts list to Excel files for bulk editing and condensing to make a mailing list with full data?

I have about 500 contacts on my MS Outlook contacts list, but I want to edit this down to initiate a charity mailing, including filling in additional address info for some which are currently just email addresses. I think this editing would be easier if I could convert all my contacts to Excel files, then delete or add information to enable a (Post Office) mailing to reach the edited list of contacts. How can I make these edits most easily, perhaps beginning by converting all my contacts to Excel files?

    Dear Lee Kenna,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you.

As per the description you have shared, I understand that you want to convert your Outlook contact list to Excel file.

To convert your Outlook contact list to Excel file for bulk editing, you can export your contact list as CSV file from Outlook and open using your Excel. To do this, please kindly follow these steps: Go to File -->Open & Export -->Import/Export --> Export to a file -->Comma Separated Values --> select and expand your account, then choose Contacts --> select Browse to choose a place you want to save your CSV file -->if you want to customize your field in your contact select Map Custom Fields, Otherwise select Finish. you can refer to the below screenshot:

Note: It may take some time to complete the exporting contact process, if your contact list size is big.

After the process completed, go to your saved file location (a place previously you choose to save) --> open and edit your contacts.

You can refer to my test result.

I look forward to you update. I hope the above information will be helpful. Please feel free to let me know if there are any questions or if I've got you wrong. I will keep assisting you based on the information you provide. I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation.

    Thanks for your precious time.

    Have a nice day!

This did work for my issue! A bit of working, to get the right format converted into Excel, but I did finally get a file to edit down as I need. Thanks very much for valuable directions. I never would have figured this out, and hopefully it may become easier in a future software mod. This did it for me.

    Thanks again,

    Lee
