Any way to get the spellcheck correction options via keyboard on Outlook on the Web?

In Desktop Outlook (and virtually every other Windows program with spellcheck, including Edge and all Office programs), when a word is red-underlined as misspelled, you just right-click or press the menu key on the keyboard (or Shift+F10 for keyboards without a Menu key) to see the replacement options. As far as I can tell, Outlook on the Web violates Windows conventions and instead responds with spelling corrections only via left-click. I also don't see any keyboard shortcut for this.

Violating the UI conventions that universal in Windows is bad enough, but if there really is no keyboard shortcut, this is just terrible UI design: when typing, the most disruptive thing to is to require the user reach for a mouse. It's one thing during navigation to require a mouse, but NEVER require a mouse as part of editing text.

Is there an option I may have missed to cause Outlook on the web to follow Windows and Office standards and support right-click and Menu key to access the correction options? If not, is there at least some keyboard shortcut so I don't have to reach for my mouse every time I just want to fix a typo?

Is there a user-voice or Feedback list I can upvote for a fix to this? I have already submitted my own feedback from within Outlook on the web.

Thanks for any suggestions or work-arounds.

    Dear GraniteStateColin,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, I understand that you have a concern with 'Can we highlight MS Teams "Tabs"?'.

After thorough research and consulting, it’s been concluded that there is no option of spellcheck correction through keyboard for outlook on the web; this is only available in office desktop programs, such as outlook, where you may go to "File" > "Options" > "Mail" and then "Spelling and AutoCorrect"; You can activate spell check in Outlook emails by ticking the "Check spelling as you type" box and the "Mark grammar errors as you type" settings in the Proofing editor. As a result, in web-based outlook, this may be depending on the browser used.

We apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements; however, thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will surely raise your concerns to our Product Team and hopefully this can be considered in the future updates.

In the meantime, you may also create an entry as a feature suggestion in the Feedback Portal at Outlook · Community (microsoft.com), Other users may vote it and make it more visible to the dedicated team so that it may be considered for future upgrades.

For other concerns, please do not hesitate to add you post in the Microsoft Community Team.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

    Sincerely,

De Paul | Microsoft Community Moderator
