Now , I did try to Sign In to PayPal at that time , I don't remember if I did Microsoft , but I did try to log onto my Outlook , so guessing that was the Microsoft log in , I was on my Cell Phone and was trying to get my PayPal Credit to work on it at Walmart for a Monitor , so I was sitting in the parking lot and kept trying to log in (I was using my old password and forgot I had changed it since I have the written down at home , but not on my phone since I rarely use my phone for anything except phone calls and Messages , I don't even email on my phone

So anyway , I exceeded the log in attempts at PayPal so I gave up as I had a Dr. appointment to get to and was mainly killing time till the appointment , but saw the monitor and wanted to get it ........ Anyway , I did try to log in on my Android around that time .... However it asked to Verify my account , and wanted me to log in ....... It asked for Verification code and waned to know where to send it , so I said Email .... So I waited (its been about 20 minutes now) and no email in my Inbox , either Microsoft account email , or in my Junk mail , so now I am concerned since I did not get a Email with a Code in it

So did I just screw myself ???

That may explain why you're not receiving the code. A different security email address may be registered to your account where the code is being sent to.

Where do you normally access your account? Can you try and see if you can sign into your account from there?

The email you received about the Unusual Activity is most likely legitimate. If this was the first time you've tried to access your email account on your phone, this will indeed prompt a security verification. With regards to the missing code, did it specify which email address it is going to send the code to? Is it being sent to an alternate email address?

That is the weird part , I just looked again , and it says my correct email address at the top , but where it says it is going to email the code to is Ji*****@hotmail.com , the issue with that is it would be missing 1 character from that account and about 8 from my other account (judging by the stars for each letter ***** (5 of them) which would be 1 less than that actual email has ... so confusion again , since I just noticed this , and I do not have a email with the number of stars shown , so not sure what is going on

I will take a screen shot and edit out my email info and post it in this reply , give me a minute OK here it is , see the Verify and it shows the ***** , well to be correct there should be 6 ****** plus the first 2 letters , so it does not match any email I have with Microsoft

Hi JimDirt! This is Raech. I'm an Outlook.com user like you and I'm happy to help.

Your failed log-in attempts over at Paypal isn't what triggered the Unusual Activity. Rather, it was the unfinished verification that prompted you on your Android device.

Can you try opening a web browser and see if you can sign in via Outlook.live.com to verify your account completely?

So you are saying this IS from Microsoft correct ?? , and I did not just get scammed by trying to log in to it ??

If so then why did I not get the Email with a Code ?? , that was the concern and why I was wondering if this was legit , as it STILL has not arrived in either of my 2 Microsoft Emails , nor is it in my Junk Mail , so basically I never got a "Code" to confirm anything , which is why I was suspect of the email , even though the situation it suggests is in the correct timeframe and from my Android , so that part is legit , but it not sending the code is the red flag for me
