Personal outlook.com has stopped working with 3rd party mail apps, like the iPhone mail app.

Yesterday, mid-morning, I stopped receiving emails on the iPhone mail app from my personal outlook.com account. Still works with gmail and tried on another device and didn't work, so is not device or app, is outlook.com. I suspect it's an SMTP / mail sync issue. Also appears to be specific to my account, my wife's still works fine. We have an M365 family premium subscription but thus far no one at Msoft is "trained" to trouble shoot mail sync issues.

    I'm Jen. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

    Are you able to receive your emails while you are signed in to a web browser? Also, have you tried removing your account from the mail app and re-add it back? I also suggest the steps in the link below and see if it helps.

    Is now fixed. As I suspected, was a Microsoft sync / SMTP issue that resolved. Several other users had same issues over past few days. I’m glad it’s working again but it’s frustrating when there’s no one you can check with to see if there are known issues. It’s all over twitter and you can see it on down detector but every Msoft support rep is oblivious.

    In any event, thank you for trying to help, I really appreciate it.

    I appreciate your update. Have you also tried adding the account manually after resetting the network settings on your phone?

    Yes, web browser and outlook app work fine. (Can't use the outlook app in my phone as it's used for a work account). It's third party apps like the iPhone mail app or Spark or Edison etc that don't work.

    And yes, have deleted, reset, removed account, and followed all the steps on the article you linked to no avail. Truly seems to be an SMTP sync issue with my account. I appreciate anything you or anyone else can offer.
