    Dear Christian Joseph Eleazar Malaluan,

    Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

    Based on your description, you can't close Microsoft Word because of an error. May I confirm whether you have tried to force quit your Microsoft word via using the task manager?

    If not, you can try it to see the result. Here are the steps:

    1. Right-click the Windows icon;
    2. Then select Task Manager from the list;
    3. Click on the application you want to force quit (Microsoft Word);
    4. Click End task to close the program.

    If yes, I found a thread which has the similar issue with you: You cannot close Microsoft Office Word until the Send Mail command is - Microsoft Community, you can try the method provided from the member to see the result.

    If the problem persists, please help capture a screenshot of your Office version(go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features to check Office version.)

    Sincerely,

    Jazlyn | Microsoft Community Moderator
