Turn off organize by thread in the outlook app.
Outlook > Settings > Toggle “organize by thread” off.
How is it possible that Microsoft never really answers this question? And who had the idea that people wanted the oldest message on top so they could waste time scrolling through a long history to get tot the bottom - and worse it seems to be random where some messages are in chronological order with the newest on top and others reverse it. It’s bizarre!
The fact that people have to flee to the Apple app to escape this fun house shoulD tell them its something that needs to be fixed.!
Another useless reply. This is a very simple question which has been knocked around since at least 2019, with evidently no resolution.
I hit this thread due to the same question in 2022… same old junk, different day.
Solution: use the iOS Mail app which natively offers this feature (flip a switch to enable ‘newest messages at the top’)
Ciao
No, what's needed is a way to organize messages by thread, with the newest message at the top. Just like in the desktop version of Outlook.
Turn off organize by thread in the outlook app.
Outlook > Settings > Toggle “organize by thread” off.

Turning off the oganize by thread worked! Thank you.
Such a simple solution, but with a vague and unclear toggle title.
