Same issue here, it disappeared from Outlook Web after the new ribbon update recently. I can still access it via the desktop version of Outlook.

Brian, Typical MS misreading of a question.

Just in case anyone finds this ON THE WEBMAIL outlook.office.com: the button is at the BOTTOM of a new message, to the right of 'Send', 'Discard', and the silly useless icons to the right of that - click the THREE DOTS and then click 'Encrypt'.

So New Message (or reply to one) > Look along the VERY BOTTOM of the message and find the THREE DOTS, and hit them and push 'Encrypt'. Then to set the permissions as something other than defaults, you'll have to click 'Change permissions' at the top.

This is a HUGE oversight by Microsoft, and now I have to train hundreds of users to use this new method. FIX IT, MICROSOFT.

Good luck to anyone else with this problem, and all the others from this asinine interface change that no one asked for.

You must be getting a different interface brought up then we are, as the send button is at the top for us. The three dots has "more options" at the bottom of it for sensitivity but no encrypt options

Hi Brian, we are having the same problem, it appears the new update removed the prior encrypt button that existed.

It previously existed as a dropdown until this past weekend

an example of the documentation that showed this behaviour is here
    for desktop

S/MIME encrypting messages is not quite the same thing as what this was doing in the past and is a completely different user experience.

Hi. I'm Brian and I will do my best to help you.

Have you received a digitally-signed message from someone to whom you want to send an encrypted message? You must add that person's public key (from his digital signature) to your crypto store in order to then use it to encrypt a message to that person. In order for him to send you an encrypted message, you must first send him a signed message to convey your public key to him first. Have you done that?
