I am having trouble outputting high resolution files (e.g. 600-1000 dpi) above 300 dpi in PowerPoint.
Please let me know what I should do.

After reading these instructions, I changed the resolution to 300 dpi, but was wondering if it is possible to set a resolution higher than 300 dpi.
I will try changing it to 600dpi as in the instructions.

The only working method appears to be to set the slide 2-4-8x the target size, create the drawing using 2-4-8x thicker lines, 2-4-8x bigger fonts etc, then save at 300 DPI (set with regedit). Then, once you shrink back to the desired 1x size, you will get the desired 600-1200-2400 resolution.
The resolution limitations are included on the page to which I linked, please re-read it. For a 13.33"x7.5" slide, the maximum resolution is 1000p.p.i.
Setting DPI decimal DWORD to above 300 did not result in increased pixel width of the output file (*.png). W10, Office 365.
I set the DWORD to 600 and got a 600 p.p.i. export. Windows 10, Microsoft 365 Version 2306 (Build 16529.20154 Click-to-Run). Sorry, I don't know why you might be having a problem with this setting.
Export as a PDF, then open the PDF in a vector graphics software (set any resolution), then export the image from there.

That should be entirely dependent on your printer driver.
